Dr. Blair A. Baker is an Assistant Professor of School Psychology at Cleveland State University. When our policies and practices empower educators to advocate for their students, we can better prevent negative outcomes for the students they care about. To carry out this goal, Dr. Baker researches practical steps we can take to better respond to and prevent the discrimination students experience at school. Resolving issues around student discrimination and racial battle fatigue could improve Black students’ mental, academic, and social wellbeing.
To achieve this research, Dr. Baker directs the Racial Equity in Education Lab (REEL), which does collaborative research, to equip schools with informed recommendations.
